Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, the renowned fashion designer, was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Paris to create a special collection of liturgical vestments for the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral. It is a new honor for the designer.
His creations will adorn the bishops, priests, deacons, and canons during the reopening ceremonies of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on December 7th and 8th.
The collection features over 2,000 pieces.
Drawing inspiration from the cathedral’s iconic choir cross, Castelbajac infused his creations with vibrant colors, symbolizing the cathedral’s renewal. His designs blend contemporary imagery with traditional elegance, aiming to resonate with younger generations while honoring the rich heritage of Notre-Dame. These vestments will be worn during significant diocesan celebrations, marking a new chapter in the cathedral’s storied history.
