I spent my childhood on the edge of the Ostalb in Baden-Württemberg.

The first trip was to Schoppernau in Vorarlberg. I particularly remember the alpine meadows, the cold mountain streams and the local evenings when the locals played brass music and danced Schuhplattler. Even today, it is the small discoveries that give me the greatest joy when traveling.

My very first holiday memory takes me to Valldemossa. I remember the large windmills on the island, which fascinated me. But when we went to the sea, a special world opened up for me. My mother often tells me that every time I saw the waves from afar, I started humming or singing softly. I still feel the same joy whenever I see the water. No matter where life takes me, the sea remains my place of refuge and happiness.

My earliest memory of travel dates back to when I was just three years old. At the time, we lived in Istanbul and would often visit the Black Sea coast. I vividly remember the salty sea breeze, the warmth of the summer sun, the waves, and the sweetness of the watermelon my grandmother cut for me. Those moments left a lasting impression, and, in many ways, not much has changed—I still cherish spending my holidays just like that.
